American Connection Corps Recommended for $12M Federal Grant to Expand Digital Adoption Work
Transformative grant comes from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and sets ACC up for significant growth and impact
We're proud to announce that the American Connection Corps (ACC) has been recommended for a $12 million grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). This transformative three-year award will dramatically expand our ability to connect people, places, and possibilities across America's digitally disconnected communities.
Building on Strong Foundations
Since 2021, ACC has worked shoulder-to-shoulder with communities to bridge the digital divide. We've placed hundreds of dedicated AmeriCorps Members in communities across the country who are expanding broadband access, advancing digital literacy, and creating meaningful connections to place. We’re so grateful for the support of many foundational partners like the NTIA; these partnerships have helped us develop our uniquely local, community-centered approach to digital adoption work.
Expanding Our Impact
This NTIA funding marks an exciting new chapter in our journey. Over the next three years, the grant will enable us to:
Place 80 ACC Members annually across 14 states, dramatically expanding our presence in communities that need it most
Deepen our training to ensure Members have the skills needed to drive immediate impact in their local communities
Break down financial barriers that often prevent communities from accessing the hands-on support they need to address the digital divide
Nurture a new generation of locally-rooted leaders who will help tackle the digital divide long after their service year ends and far beyond the grant period
The full breakdown of our valued in-state partners and states covered is outlined below. These partners will be critical in ensuring that our Members serve the communities in their states that need it most and will deepen our local impact.
Looking Ahead
While this NTIA grant represents a milestone for our digital adoption work, it's just one piece of ACC's broader vision. We remain deeply committed to demonstrating how place-based service can strengthen communities from the ground up. By addressing digital connectivity alongside other community priorities, we'll continue to shape a future where the community you live in doesn't determine the opportunities that you can access.
Join Our Journey
We're excited to expand our impact through this new partnership with NTIA, and we invite you to be part of this next chapter! Whether you're interested in hosting a Member, serving your community, or collaborating with us, reach out at ACCinfo@lead4america.org.
